Hey!
I was wondering what people do to get psyched up to ski down the infamous ravine. Me,I tote my snazzy discman... couldn't be without it... music always gets me ready to go.

I'd rather be listing for falling skiers/riders above me, listening for falling ice, keeping aware of my surroundings. I'll save the music for the road trip home... just my 2 cents.

The Bene Gesserit Littainy against Fear.
Pg 19 of Dune

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

I would have to agree with skicdave. You should listen to your surroundings. I myself hum a tune in my head on the way down the ravine.Usually something heavy and hardcore.

Well I was gonna say, if you're interested in some "get psyched" music... I just found a website for a new band called Delinquent Habits, which is pretty cool to check out.

Keep the music for another time, and your ears open. Not being able to hear your surroundings up there is a good way to get killed.

Besides, all the psyching up you THINK you've accomplished on the trek up goes right out the window the first time you look over the edge of the Lip!

I agree with the "rather hear runnels and debris than music" theory on hiking in the bowl. If you mean what do i do to keep myself psyched on the hike up tucks trail, music could well be an option - i like my mp3 player like i like my women, light and sweet. Although just checking out the mtn scenery and remeber what my end goal is keeps me pretty psyched. Also bringing first timers and what there amazement is cool too! Oh and getting back safely to gorham to play some pool and drink cobra bowls!
