Today I rode the tram 10 times and skied ~30k feet of vert in 3:15 hr lapping the mountain.
One lap is: tramway way -> by-pass -> extension -> Polly's, back up zoomer and down avalanche to the tram.
This is not a bad workout for piste skiing. By noon the side slippers have the steep terrain polished up.
On a weekend, it would probably be dodge ball....
Too bad the tram doesn't run t-th.
This sequence allows one to ski 9k vert per hour assuming the tram is running at intervals of 8-10 minutes.

Playin' "Beat The Tram" again JT?
I was doin' laps at Mt Snappy. Gets kinda boring.... or I am too spoiled to enjoy a magnificent ski day on a bump. :p
Nice math JT!
Looks like Wed and Fri should see things getting interesting...

If you can get the yellow one every time you can shave off another 1.5 minutes per up, that one's a little faster..... ;)

They messed me up by doing an insta run because they rode with 2 people and then a crowd showed up. After a few laps on red, I rode yellow. Very disconcerting....
Laps are extra fun in low vis down to 3/4 of the way up Polly's! Although the fog eventually lifted, there was a real premium on knowing your line -- like every turn you're making. Good practice for schralping during snow storms.....
Plus, I got a great deal on some Lange Super Banshees and Dynastar Mythic Riders. It's my second day testing out the gear. It will be nice at the resort.
Gotta mount the Dynafits FT12s on the new BRO 179 super-duper carbon yad dee yah.....so I'll be ready to slay when the time comes.
Nice math JT!
Assuming one lap is 3k feet, this is about one Cosmqiues per hour (minus all the POW and the rap).

Not to drift this thread over to the Greens, but last year, March 19 or so (a Thursday IIRC), not a soul at Jay, I ended yo-yo'ing the tram for about 29k ft of vertical.
Yes, trams are indispensable!

Drift away....
So, I have ridden a tram at Verbier that holds 150 people. Very impressive when you ride it alone on a powder day!
I have heard there is a double decker tram in Switzerland that carries 300 people across a valley between two ski mountains.
