The way its going, should have number 1000 around may 1st, right when my homebrew is scheduled to be done... We should commemorate this milestone somehow (the member, not the brew) I will be bringing it up to the bowl with me May 3 provided it is drinkable...

What form are you carrying the beer up in?
I am reminded of my "Bacon & Beer" theory, which was an expierement where you bring a keg of beer, and all the bacon you can carry up to the bowl and barter for everything, including Skiis/Boots and sleeping bag space.
I gotta dust off my mash tun... long trail aint cheap.

I am still low grade (ie bottling) Making a petes summer clone right now. Dubing it flesh fest summer. Heres the label:

Probably just bringing a 6 pack of it up there for my boyz... I saw that one video of the dude with a quarter keg straped to a frame pack - crazy F-ers... musta been a PKT fraternity event that day.
Rush Phi Kappa Tucks!

I think that 1000th member is pretty cool, but bringing homebrew up to the ravine is way cooler

Ok this is a 'family' oriented site... but I'll allow this photo since I think it somehow relates to skiing at Tucks
How about a free weekend pass at Tucks for the 1000th member? Or perhaps a 'sherpa for a day' coupon.

hey M@ Long Trail is pretty cheap. 1/2 barrels are $70 and 5 gallon logs are $35 from the brewery. ps the chili there is top notch!
Peace Chuck

so lets see, if a gallon ways 8# and you drink two gallons the night before leaving three gallons to hike up with thats 24# of beer and another 5# for the barrel or 29#. If you ditch the extra socks, 10oz, and the third sweater, 18oz, the Ravine Furnture, 16 oz, lunch (beer is bread afterall), 24 oz, Satellite Telephone Case 10#, back up water (you've got beer) 4# than thats only an extra 8# of weight or so. You sell the beer that you aren't going to drink, or 2 gals at $2.00 a pint ... you can just about make all your money back on one of those 5 Gal logs!, but not enough to hire a sherpa.

I'm betting my rock skis and old smelly hiking boots that the 1000th member will sign up for his life membership on T4T on May 4th at 11am.
Place your bets now...

I'll see your rock skis and old smelly hiking boots with my ex-room-mates Snowboard (and raise you two left flip-flops :p )on May 5 15:32 hrs.
(However, it occurs to me that the winner could then find themself inundated with outdated equipment if more people jump in to the bet)
I'll shout for the following Monday, May 5th. The skiing is more fun than the internet surfing, so back home/at work on Monday, by 0900 hrs, our 1000th will sign up then.

Nobody is going to be close.
My revised, revised, revised bet however is May 7 at 7:52am.
I guess this means everyone gets to change their bets up to 3 times.

Well there we have it folks... member 1000 goes to extreme_g from Mars Hill, Maine. May 7, 9:29am. Actually he's member #1002 since there is no member #1 and a 2nd member was deleted.
Actual Member #1000 is c murph from Underhill, Vermont who signed up May 7 at 6:19am.
So you pick... no matter we have 1000 members.
Unfortunately only about 50 are active posters... so 95% are luckers... tsk tsk!
While on about stats, here is a summary of activity for the last 3 seasons...
Member Signups:
Season 2001: 60 new members
Season 2002: 40 new members
Season 2003: 881 new members (as of May 7)
Postings:
Season 2001: 620 postings made by 181 members
Season 2002: 430 postings made by 123 members
Season 2003: 1,271 postings make by 179 members (as of May 7)
To me the important figure is the number of postings. T4T will have grown in activity by over 300% in comparison to last season.
As far as membership. Well you have to be a member to check out the videos. Maybe members should have to fill out the survey in order to view them?
Actually since Mar 17, members have downloaded a total of 8,737 video clips for a total of 8.5 GB in downloads... please leave some coin for bandwidth on your way out.

I would love to be able to sit here and watch the vids. However, I am ISP challeneged due to the fact that I have beautiful, wonderful Always Off Line (read that as AOL). BUT! I DO watch them when I am at school! (Back in college full time at 44! OK, 45 on 6/3!) I can get them here at home if I'm willing to tie up my phone and everything else here for about 2 hours each. lol School is better than not at all, though. They rock! Have fun, be safe. Al :o

I'd been wondering who was #1 if you were #2. Thanks for the information. I've been checking the website and reading the posts for the past few years, but only just joined yesterday. I guess I felt I had to have a few Tucks years under my belt before I was worthy of joining the list. ;)

There is no member #1... way back I probably had an original admin login which I most likely deleted when I created skicdave.
