View Full Version : So Sad
:(I can tell there is a snow drought. Not too many posts on the board.
When will it all turn around? Maybe next week?
As a very recent new father my random adventure days are far and few between. That is why I look to you lucky folk to post. It seems like even the die hards aren't getting out that much.

Bretton woods skied really well on thursday. Snow showers all day, but little to no accumulation.
Even the woods though were still in great shape.
All in all a day out and lots of fun.

Or they're just not posting about it.;)
I expect there will be some interesting places to go this weekend. Anyone who wants to go 'splorin, hit me up. Your availability of beacon and shovel will affect travel options.

When pickin's are slim, most would tend to keep what's left on the down low. Ya know? http://www.techsourceconsultants.com/coppermine/albums/userpics/10020/secret.gif
I'll throw out a bone for y'all soon, but I know everyone will be watchin the Olympics or 'xplorin this weekend and the Jay TR will get buried or lost to the winds.
Depends on where you look. Look for places where open water and prevailing winds produce upslope snowfalls...
That is all.

Well...you haven't heard anything? This will keep in line with just about all above posts, except avy bacon required (though I DID just eat some delicious bacon in my dinner...mmm carbonara). Thursday after class I skipped out to a nearby mountain, skinned up a very well established skintrack, skinned up a tracked out trail, dropped into the woods, and lo and behold - the only tracks to be seen? My own tracks from the previous Thursday. There's no snow drought. Keep fooling yourself.

Yes! Surprisingly decent untracked tree skiing today, 6" - 8" fluff - unfortunately no pix, more to come tomorrow and monday . . . . .
Well,
You guys have inspired me. The Wife has given me a Valentines gift of a day up north.
Time to explore :D
