This coming Saturday myself and a few others are planning on hiking to the summit, I plan on skinning up to HoJo's and have a talk with the rangers up there about possible ski conditions.

With knowledge from the past forecasts, and the lack of any snow events, it is said that with exception to isolated pockets the bowl is moderately stable and has "good climbing conditions"

I am playing with the idea of climbing right gully for inspection, summit, and if right was in good shape descend right gully for some turns and finish out via the shurby.

My question:
Has anyone been up there lately in any of Tux's Gullies, Lobster Claw, or Right, how was is, and how feasible are the skiing conditions?

As Always, Thanks !

if i make it out of boston at a reasonable hour tomorrow morning, i may walk to the summit via right and ski all of the way down depending on the conditions. i figure having just skied 4 days at 11,000 feet, i should be able to make the summit in short order.

will report back if i get up there.

I've skied Right, Left, and Sluice about 5 times...in variety of temps and conditions. Snowpack as been relentlessly bulletproof!

Huntington Seemed edgeable, at the very least on Sunday. Summit Cone was pretty icky looking that day.

Monday I took 2 runs on Lower Headwall....fun, plenty soft with lots of pow-pow. Watch out for the holes, though!

Sherby is like one big groomer right now, skiing great as is the fire road leading to Huntington.

In any event, if current weather remains, I'm sure you can make your loop.....however, I wouldn't count on quality conditions, only quality turns ;)

I'm itching to get out to GOS for a little looksy....

Tony, I hope you stop by Harvard Cabin this weekend! Evenings or mornings are better! I'm usually not done with my chores until around 9:30 AM. I hope to ski with you and any other friends and/or T4T'ers!

Was on the hill yesterday with a similar plan..The wind had other ideas though..Right was looking full and lower lobster looked good too.. Lots of snow moving around so I'm not sure if anything edgeable is left on the summit cone? Little headwall was rough at best. WATCH THE OPEN HOLES! and stay skiers right to get through the scrub before the top of the L.Headwall. Sherbie is good all the way out with some icey sections, but still fun.

conditions are fast, know some peeps who did right and sluice this weekend, sateted bullet proof. On saturday my buddy and I did maingully GOS it to was hard as a rock, turns were fast and scartchy. I'll post a couple of picks tonight when i get home, top of the gully is still bushy, we started lookers right above the "Y" next snow fall and some consolidation and it should be mint, snowfields and the other gullys need lots more.

it'll save me the bother of looking for myself. wait awhile i guess. there could be an interesting thing happening that could provide some surfaces to become quite nice.

just got back from a great snowmobile trail mountain bike ride. 1.5 hours of studless cruising on the ti 29er rigid. didn't even need to bleed the tires down. EPIC winter riding conditions. some of the trails took me right across marshes and ponds. may have to do that loop again in the morning.

I think I'm going to scrap plans for skiing right or lobster till softer conditions.
I might climb Central over in Huntington with Scottie instead, then hit up the summit and hike down lion's head

Thanks for all the details guys!!
