It's a sacred trust, cutting good lines, keeping them tight where they should be tight but opening into high cover glades whenever possible.

Been working a hill close to the house. Yesterday was crowbar day on line three. Five big'uns and dozens of little'uns. Also made a few cuts here and there with the saw. Two of the big'uns were really big and it was a major challenge. Line four gets the same next w/e.

Then back to scything under the high cover, right to the bottom on all four.

I may be getting most of my turns a quarter mile from the house.

I discovered some old growth forest a 2 minute drive up the hill from my new house. Nothing but big Beech and Oaks w/ ferns. I dont think i need to even move a log, its that perfect. North Facing and about 300-400vf. its also got a bit of elevation too...Yes, I know...Elevation in NJ? Yup. That few hundred vertical difference can be the rain/snow line and this area is where that line always is.

If we get the snow, it'll be great...if not, Ill be hangin w/ DMC!!!
