Thanks to all who were there on Saturday. While it was a bit windy, all in all it was great day. Its being with all you folks that makes the trip so special. Its like coming home to family.
My friend Sarah and I arrived at the bowl early. There were only about 10 people there at that point. We climbed around Lunch Rocks and found a fairly sheltered spot. Heeding the warnings from Hermit Lake Hut we shied away from the right side and made a bee-line for the Chute. This was Sarah's first trip up and I love the reactions of first timers when they finally put the slats on look down. For any of you that were there early, that was Sarah's helmet that came rolling out of the Chute. Not to worry though, it was the result of butter-fingers, not a fall. Thanks to the guys who grabbed it and stashed it for her.
Major kudos to the Tele monsters coming down over the headwall. It was pure pleasure watching these masters ski the toughest terrain there is. It was great to hear the rest of the bowl-ants giving them their rewards in the form of cheers.
