Sugarloaf, 10/17/03. They say 35 days until opening:

Sunday River is slated to open 11/14/03. Just 27 days... but I am a bit more skeptical. Snowmaking was tested this past week, but it's still too warm to make it last. I was up there last weekend, and saw no snow on the mountain. But some of the gullies above Tuckerman had beautiful white lines. Season is coming!

I was up at the loaf sunday, it was snowing all the way to the bottom of the acess road. The top was pretty white. I promptly had my first snowball fight of the winter rolled in the snow. THE SEASON IS HERE

Bet the recent temps have cleared some of that off, though. It certainly is brilliant in central Maine today.

I realize I'm a bit of a late-comer to this thread, but 10/23/03 I skied at Saddleback (round the corner from sugarloaf), several runs in fact. The upper part of the mountain was a blast. I'll have pictures as soon as I can get them developed.

Probably a little to much to hope that some snow still remains with all this warm temps & rain, but can anyone confirm this? Also, on the Bretton Woods ski cam or whatever they call it, it looked semi-decent last thursday...
