Crap. :( I'll be in Switzerland (looking for early December Alpine turns after my conference ends). Are there other options for the classroom portion or another session altogether, Mahk?

Rog, I have a draft half written with some of the pics narrowed down. Can you please PM me to remind me how to insert the pics? I think you have to use Flickr or something, right? If I get some instruction, perhaps it will motivate me to get it done! BTW, how many pics is too many? :D

really funny! if i only knew. Oh, right, you're the one always getting grief for lack of photo evidence. I forgot.
Anyone else know how to post pics? Please PM me, since this thread was supposed to be about an avalanche course...

Okay, here it is:
Upload your photos to a web hosting service like Backcountry Agenda (http://www.techsourceconsultants.com/coppermine/index.php) (flikr and some others are blocked by the corporate Blue Meanies). Then open one photo, right click on it and select properties. Then select the URL, like this:
http://www.techsourceconsultants.com/coppermine/albums/userpics/10040/normal_HowTo.JPG
Then, while the URL is highlighted, hit the {Ctrl} key and the {C} key to put the URL in the clipboard. Where it is appropos to place the photo in your TR, paste the URL between the <img] and </img] tags. Note, on this and nearly all other forums the tags are square braket enclosed. I typed < instead of [ so the tags would stay visible as they are malformed without the square brackets.
Repeat the URL Capture as often as needed to get all the photos you need for your TR. Really long TR's are often split up into Part 1, Part2, etc because there is a limit to post length.
It sounds like a bunch, but it's really easy once you have done it.
PS, try to avoid the really big images, use them in "normal size" or reduce the size of copies before uploading. Keep your original Hi-Res shots safe, use copies for uploads!

Thanks for the beta, RR! I'm having trouble registering on Backcountry Agenda. It just doesn't believe I'm human! Is there another photo site that will work? (I have Picasa, Flickr, and Snapfish accounts.)

Hey Tony!
In the meantime....
Use one of your existing accounts and follow the same procedure with the URL capture from the properties window...there may be a simpler way: Some photo hosting sites have two or three options for putting the correct URL on your clipboard. It's not always clear which option will work for posting on boards.

Webshots are also blocked and most of the other biggies too.

VT, I see you registered and uploaded photos, I assume everything is fine.
Let me know if you have any issues, its my site.
Send me a PM.
Sorry I missed this thread, it's been tough going around here as of last, poor pup has some medical issues that can't be fixed.
