What the youungest aged kid that you have seen either up at the bottom of the bowl or actually doing Tuckerman. If doing Tuckerman what route. I have heard of 7 or 10 year olds doing it but have never seen them.

Skiied the chute with an 8yr old a few years back. His dad said he carried his skiis up for him. I see lots of dads with kids skiis on the back.

Last year while hiking up I passed a dad and son of about 9-10 yrs of age. The kid wasn't really happy to be hiking.

I've seen pictures of babys in backpacks, although they aren't really "Doing Tuckerman."

My daughter Anna hiked up to the Crystal Cascade at 3yrs of age. I plan on teaching her to ski this year. I dunno when I'll do it, but I plan on the guido trail to introduce her now. It's really a good training hike for tuckerman... easier hike and easier skiing. If she likes that - it's SHOW TIME at the freakshow that is Tuckerman.

I can't wait until my 12yr son is old enough to haul up my gear! :p

When He was 7 my son was sledding in the Ravine. The following trip he was up partway in Left on his touring skis...

Gad how time flies!

I skied the Headwall from the bottom of the Upper snowfields when I was in third grade, so that would put me at 9 years old... I don't remember if my dad carried my skis up or if I did, but I assume that he did...

I remember being absolutely TERRIFIED out of my mind on the way up, but then having lots of :D on the way down as I realized that the hike up is harder than the ski down...

I used to race. Racing, more than anything else IMO, works your balance & coordination when skiing, at least in terms of getting a baseline skiing talent. Skiing moguls all the time really helps too. Moguls & Ice are arguably the most challenging things to ski, so if you can do both, you can ski almost anything, assuming the snow conditions are decent.

According to my dad, the snow conditions were very good when I first skied it; one of those days when it corns up perfectly...
