View Full Version : 6-10 day weather frcst
Here's NOAA's 6-10 day weather forcast. Not really that specific, just a general "above average change of rain" or "above average temp" type thing, but it's long term.
NOAA 6-10 day weather (http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/predictions/610day/)
April 12th is looking like slightly higher temp, and normal rainfall.

Kinda confusing... If you know what you're looking at I'm sure it'll give you a lot of info, but I found the IntelliCast link off the TFT front easier to understand...
After checking that out plus the several links form the observatory weather page, it's still looking iffy for this weekend... sucks cuz it'll be the 3rd or 4th weekend in a row i have had to bail out on (damn I can't even keep count of them :( ) and I'm busy the next 2 weekends and the following saturday... looks like I might have to play hookey to be able to make it this year :p I know ppl are still going in May, but I really wanna ski sherbourne out... But from some reports that's already degenerating as we speak....... man what is wrong with my luck this year?

These are long term forcast maps... so they aren't that accurate.
What that page shows is the probability of HIGHER than average vs. NORMAL/Average vs. BELOW average temp and propb of precip. It's for the range of days 6-10 days from now, so if you view the page today (April 3), it is describing April 9th - 13th information.
The first (top) map is TEMPERATURE, Green areas (with a N in the middle) denote normal temperature, so if you know the average temp for those days, that's what they are predicting. The Blue (A) areas denote Above average temperature predictions.
So what you want to see over NH:
Top Map: Temp, RED (A) = High Temp
Bottom Map: Precip, Blue (B) = Low Precip Prob
It's just another time killer adding to the anticipation of the trip, which is as good as the trip iteself!

My opinion on the best way to tell the weather? Look up. If your face gets wet, it's raining. If it gets cold and wet, it's snowing. If it gets cold, hurts badly and feels like it's been sandblasted, it's sleeting. If you see a blue color and there is a blindingly bright light in the sky accompanied by your face staying dry, chances are you got lost and only made it to North Conway, not to Tucks! And then again, does it really matter what the weather is like? It's ALL good at Tucks! Peace, out. Al

Hey M@ -
It's Ilene (who got married there last year)...I see your trip is planned for 4/12...We are back up on 4/26 -- the ANNIVERSARY TRIP! Wonder if SAXMAN will play for us THIS year???????????
Have a great hike/ski and I guess we'll catch you next year...
Ilene:
I might be going up on the 26th for an overnight. This weekend (12th) is looking like a day trip as my camping companions are all bagging on me.
