Hiking Dodges Drop...?

Hey for those of you who have done the drop, do you hike up the chute itself or do you go hillmans or something and ski around to the entrance? Everything tells me you want to hike the run your gonna ski, but I didn't know if it was too steep or obastcles or something. Let me know thanks.

I've done it both ways. Way easier to hike up Hillmans then cross over. But know what you mean. I've hiked up Left Gully at the end of the day and hiked along the ridge to the top of Dodges and dropped in and it was all frozen. So you may want to hike up it.
