I think this is a good one. Makes it sound really dangerous. Info on the SowTube crash etc...

From another veiwpoint: the article really points out the value of the experience. The life, the living and the craziness are well situated. The sobering reminders are not the frontpiece...
May I live to slide again!

That has GOT to be a scary-a**ed feeling going into a crevasse. If the fall in or the sudden stop at the bottom didn't get you, I'd think the heart would give out. I definitely try to see where the rips in the piste are and avoid them like the plague! No 'vasse-jumping for this old guy! OK, hoping to see a bunch of us up there this Sat if all goes well at work! Have fun, be safe. Al
Tua Hydrogen's, G3 T9's, Garmont SynerG's...under 20 pounds alright....but the $1000 pull on my wallet, oh that's heavy. But how can the lightest setup, 4 longnecks, the pack and lunch (redundant, if one of the longnecks is a stout) come in at anything close to 20 pounds?

"They haul their own skies, boots and poles - weighing about 20 pounds - on backpacks up an icy, snow-covered trail."
WHAT??? 20lbs, YEAH RIGHT!!! Who carries only 20 lbs? I doubt that I've ever lugged much less than 45lbs, and I know that I've carried much more than that. Without fail I always bring more than I need, maybe 5-10lbs, but there is no way I have ever carried even close to 20lbs. Other than that it was a pretty good article. I wonder what the avg weight of ones pack is, as well as the maximum and minimum....
Skiis and Boots weigh 23.5 pounds.
My lightest load ever was 43 pounds.
Here's a pack weight calculator:

(Dave, feel free to steal that page, all code is client side, I"m sure your graphic artistry could make it a lot nicer)

My favorite times going up to tucks are in mid-winter/early spring when the skis are on my feet going up and down and a light weight pack on my back(i have never weighed it, but i am guessing it weighs under 25 lbs). It truely is the way to go at tucks for me.

Anyways its now on the site. see Pack Weight Calculator (http://timefortuckerman.com/packcalc.html)
Nice work Dave! That's pretty fast. My wife would smile if you used this picture somewhere in there:

LOL Good one M@. Will replace the photo of my buddy Gerry (sorry Gerry by Anna is a cutie).
Thanks Dave! Feel free to mod that code with more appropriate items. I was going to add a "Day Trip", "Over Night" button which set all the apprioriate stuff. If I mod mine is it hard to copy the code back into yours?

Nope not a problem. Yes we need some additional options (see my other posting http://timefortuckerman.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=000574).
Thanks M@!
