Hey everyone,
Its been a while sense my last post.

I was thinking in mid to late april Im going up to Tucks. Sense this site holds such a cool community it would be cool if we all could arange a date and time to meet at the Base of the trail up to Tucks and have a TIME FOR TUCKERMAN's Day. How Cool would that be!

What do U guys Say?

I can post a Poll on which days would be the best to go on and and based on the majority we would pick that date. Hows that sound?

Lookin forward to some positive responces.

Hell we could even get TFT T-Shirts before we go and wear them when we go on the trip. (does that sound dorky?) :ducttape:

Tough to say right now for me, but it's sure that I plan to ski there in april, may, june and july next year. I think it will more depend of the weather and the time I will have at this moment...

A TFT day would be cool, but I couldn't be sure at 100% before the day in question :(

About posting some polls, it's only the moderators that can... so you/we can ask to M@ or Dave.

I think it's a fine idea to get some of the t4t crew to ski the ravine together. Trying for a big group trip is cool; and we should keep doing what was being done toward the end of last season -- posting up when you're going (that is, if you want company) and inviting others to join in.

Having moved out of New England (for the time being), Mrs. O and I will be good for only one Tucks weekend trip this year, and it'll likely be April/May, with the exact time TBD depending on how the work schedules are going at that point. But whenever it is, hopefully we can meet up with some folks here!

I AM IN FOR A MAY TRIP!!! I AM GOING TO TRY TO HIT A POWDERDAY IN FEB/MARCH, BUT I STILL NEED SOME AVALACHE GEAR, AND NEW SNOW SHOES BEFORE I AM READY FOR THAT TRIP UNLESS I RIDE OUT THE SAME DAY????? BUT I AM VERY INTERESTED IN MEETING UP WITH AS MANY OF YOU AS POSSIBLE!! I REALLY WANT TO GET IN ON THE DMC TRIP, AS WELL AS THE MATT TRIP, BUT I MAY RUN INTO FAMILY OBLIGATIONS AS WELL. I WILL BE SURE TO LET EVERYONE KN0W WHEN WE ARE GOING TO MAKE THE BIG TRIP WELL IN ADVANCE! :tucks: FOREVER MAN!!!

So early yet... but usually for myself and Kate of :chair: fame, it would be Easter weekend or Victoria day weekend (Canuck weekend)... but we can be flexible. I'd suggest firming a date up in mid winter myself.

I would enjoy meeting this unusual community. Given the complexities of work, and the weather unknowns, I'd have to agree that waiting until closer to the time in question would be reasonable. Does anyone other than SkiStooge hike the ravine off season?

I'm off to St-Sauveur with the skis in the car (just in case), but I don't think I'm going to hit the slope.

Maybe Dave will figure out the calendar thing that was talked about and then we can all post when we are going, and if you are flexible you can pick a day when others are going.

(He just might have the T shirts ready by then too  )

I usually ski Tucks at least 3-5 times every spring; but I'm looking for more this year (and hopefully turns in June & July), however it is too early, for me at least, to work out any details at all about when to go. I imagine I'll take at least one trip in March, a couple in April, a few more in May, then one in June & one in July...

Off-season, yep I hike a lot. I actually have some pictures getting developed of my most recent 6 day backpack. I hiked up Boot Spur instead of the bowl itself, but I think I got some good pictures of it, I'll post them when I get them back in a day or two.

Sounds good, but don't wait for me down low; because I'm slow, I'm usually moving up before 7AM.

My personal best is 2 Winter and 4 Spring days in the same season and I plan to do better in 2003-2004...there's a good chance we'll see more than 4 of us in the Ravine on any half decent weather day. Saxman will be there anyway.

Family: Impossible to predict
Work: A little easier to blow off, but you never know for sure
Religion: I ain't opening that can of worms in this forum
Friends: If there firends, there coming with you.

THE MOON: Ah ha! There's something I can predict!

My dates are 2003-04-10 and 2003-05-01 (May Day!)

These saturdays have thursdays very close to a full moon, hence perfect for a night hike and 3 days in the ravine.

I have permission to leave the house on these days too, so I'm pretty close to %100

See http://m.sheppard.net/tuckerman/2004 for more info.

Elwood is correct. 2004 trips are

April 10th
May Day

I'm the constant Tuckerman Evangelist, and have people yelling "MAY DAY MAY DAY!" already. That way, when spring rolls around, as it often does, they will hear MAY and think tuckerman right away.

May trip is feasable.. And maybe even more desireable for a party trip...

April 10th is out... My family will dissown me if I miss another Easter.. And a couple of the guys in my crew are Jewish... They'd miss Passover.. Which they were almost disowned for last year...

I'm down for the first weekend in April.. Will provide the usual batch of PIX for you week after guys! :)

Sounds like fun...

I'm only 60 or so miles away. Pretty flexible most weekends (Fri and Sat are best for me) Sunday is like family day. Firm up some dates and I'll probably be able to be there. Only prob with date-firming is if the waaether turns totally to feces. Might have a diffucult time rescheduling at this point. Might be able to at least turn it into a big ole get together at least? OK, Have fun, be safe. Al :skistooge:

I'm a half a days drive away... I set a date and have to stick to it... We check out the observatory guys forecast but only to help prepare... Who am I kidding... I bring everything I need for anything no matter what...

Rain - snow - sleet - hail - fog - ice - sun - clouds... Then the next minute... :)

Bring them to TR for Easter - what better place to celebrate -> it's closer to heaven. And you could stash their easter baskets in the crevasses.

Wasn't there also another weekend planned? A plan to meet at Sugarbush and Mad River? Something to do with a fundraiser for SkiLas? I think some of you promised us tours of those areas.

My 70 year old Dad loves to hear about my stories.. But - unless I chopper him in... He's staying home!

The only other thing I remember us talking about going up to Tucks in early December...

Found the link in SkiLas topic "Charity Ski Event" from several months back. Some of planned to go to MRG and Sugarloaf, and M@ and SkiLas promised tours. I don't think a date was set (I never forget a ski promise).

I promise a tour of Slide Brook for anyone who can beat me down Egan's Woods.

And if you can get my friend Chris to laugh, he'll take us down some stuff he discovered just last week doing some trail clearing. I have co-ords, but probably wouldn't "poach his stash" with out the first tour with him.

Funny that you talk of that... The video of JSpin (from FTO) that I just bought have a good coverage of skiing in the Slide Brook area. It looks quite interesting !
