If we all do get to share a T4T shelter this Spring, we should have a campstove cook off contest...

I'll take y'all on
I'm pretty lame food wise camping @ tux. I bring those dehydrated dealies and add some spices. It works. Maybe some cheese and a stick of pepperoni.
Definatly wanna avoid anything like super hot chili or hot stuff I think. There's no bidet for like 10 miles! Unless you ski naked and fall I guess.

Dr. piddle and I always carry an ample supply of Tabasco sauce. His sister is in ROTC, and she gets mad MRE's... They all come with a little tabasco bottle.

When I hike, my staple food is soup. I'm from the boil water & add school of thought in terms of hiking food. Then I usually have cheese & bagels too, because it's good to get more variety in there.. (oh, and some solid food)

Best item I've ever taken for multiday backcountry trips was dried chicken. Cook, pull appart into little pieces and leave in the oven on low for half a day. Yummy! Would be even better at Hermit Lake.

Some how I have a feeling age and guile will rule on this one. I am dying to see what RR will pull out of his pack!
2000-04-15: We shared the lean-to with some guys who tried to make some really fancy meatball type things. Lots of spices, rolling them together, and cooking seemed to take a long time.
I think if they were served on some fine china, with silverware and a glass of zin, they might have been a triumph... however, served up in a tinfoil bowl with a palm full of mad-dog 20/20... let's just say the bacon was a triumph in that mode of presentation.
