I had to be responsible and beat the storm home to get to work on Monday. If I didn't work with monkeys maybe I could have played hookie too (cough). You know this architecture thing is definately not what Mr. Brady made it out to be. He was always going to Hawaii, loosing blueprints at the amusement park and of course saving people from collapsing buildings (seen very brady christmas??).
Can you sue a TV Show for misrepresentation?
Heres hoping it continues :snowflakes: :snowflakes: :snowflakes: in Vermont. 5 days till my arrival.
Good on ya Elwood....

I don't have any pictures ( :badwords: digital camera ran out of batteries), but I hit Mittersul with a friend and my dog on Monday. We made 4 runs skinning up from the parking lot. Our first two were down the trail furthest to skier's right (then one you would do if you wanted to easily get back to Cannon), but we continued down past the Cannon cut-offs, back to the Mittersul base. We had excellent knee+ deep freshies (or that's where they'd probably have been on Alpine skis, remember we were both on tele gear). First run we were the first tracks down, second run we passed a snowboarder on snow shoes, and later another telemarker skinning up... However, some guys from the ski area came by as we were taking off our skins at the top before our second run. We still got plenty of freshies though, on the same trail.
We got ahold of a friend who was skiing over on lift-served Cannon via radio, so we traversed back to the Cannon Peabody base for lunch (I just tied a bit of cord around the dog's collar, and no one cared that he was in the lodge with us; I love :cannon: !). Then we skinned back up on the Cannon side to the top of Mittersul (I don't know the exact route, but we mainly followed the trail to skier's left of the quad until we got to the base of Profile, then headed up Hardscrabble to the spur trail to Mittersul).
Our third run was skiing the old liftline at Mittersul all the way down; we had good snow up top, then after the "headwall" we had excellent snow in some untracked chutes in the saplings below the lift (you usually cut back to Cannon before reaching these chutes if you're heading back to Peabody).
For our fourth run we were thinking of doing Tuckerbrook, since our friend agreed to meet us at the bottom, and it had looked very enticing when we had skied by it. The dog was getting VERY tired, however, and it was getting a little dark, so we decided to instead just ski liftline again and go back to the Mittersul base. The snow was excellent once again, quite deep, and fairly powdery (not like two weeks ago though... that was just incredible!).
Overall, it was a great day skiing, my third on my new skins ( :) ). We both got a *few* core shots, and my edges scraped against rocks once or twice, but overall it was actually very nice.
The dog had a bit of a rough time; he was having trouble keeping up in the deep snow, and kept getting snowballs between his paws.
