and I'm a. a. a. skiaholic.
If there is a 12 step program for people like me I'd love to know what the steps to endulgence are - forget about recovery.
I'm not a doctor... But I play one on TV...
Step 1: drink....
Step 2: drink....
Step 3: drink....
etc....

2. When the snow hits, just go. If they love you, they will understand
3. If you are still conscious, keep skiing
4. Take one more run
5. Always be the last one off the slopes
6. Arrive early. Always be the first one on.
7. Complain to management if a ski area closes for the season when there is skiable terrain remaining
8. Travel as far as necessary to ski
9. Monitor your environment for ski opportunities
10. Don't believe claims that there is no snow unless you verify it for yourself
11. Get ahead of budget. Work overtime spring, summer and fall so everyone has to cut you a break when the :snowflakes: falls.
12. Register for all ski websites and subscribe to all ski magazines. Especially the T4T website. Realize that it is important to network with your peers.

I agree with Mum, this is exactly the right thing to do.
Anyway, don't you worry, the people not normal are the ones who are not ski-a-holic. So I think everyone on this board is normal :) :)

DMC - Here a thought...
I should start drinking Tuckerman Ales first thing in the morning prior to going sking.
Stash enough  in my pack to last til lunch (it'll have to be cans - bottles could cause and injury) then go and in warm up with a few drafts at lunch.
I figure that will about do me in so the afternoons i'll have to spend soaking in a hot tub.

I think  before :skicool: is over-rated. It slows reaction time and dulls senses. Also, it increases the need to :outhouse: .
Although elwood and DMC may disagree, I think it should be considered acceptable for ski-a-holics to wait to  until after :skiplow: , if they wish.
Last time I did a wake and beer before skiing with my buddy, I ended up with a dislocated shoulder, and he broke his collar bone.
No lie.

M@ :ducttape: M!, are you sure that was a wake and beer and not a wake and case?
Mum: you don't have to drink beer before skiing when you are chillin with the crew. You don't even have to drink after. Saves more for the rest of us!!!
