What happens with this MB when the ravine becomes unskiable? Does it go into hibernation until next winter? Or does it stay open for those unwilling or unable to detach themselves?

T4T is open 365 days 24 hours... but yes it does get a tad quiet when Tucks is not skiable. Maybe this year the regular crew will stick around and keep things lively... its all up to the members!

Here... I'll do my part...

Here is our (Kate and I) current project. A new teardrop camper trailer designed as the ultimate alternative to Hermit Lake Shelters, at a fraction of the price...

This is what we call our 'PJ Snoozer'. It's basically a bed and kitchen on wheels. No ski rack installed at this time. Tots along nicely behind our PT Cruiser (official vehicle of T4T).

We have to organize it a bit.. new stove etc to get it 'Tucks Worthy'. Need ice box to handle the

Speaking of camping...has there been any further thought about a summer get together??
It would be a gizmo fest, what with the silver bullet there and various contraptions to move beer around.

Will have to see how many still are about on the board, and are interested in a get together. I suggested a late summer/fall gathering. Will see how many are still active in the uponing weeks, and who is interested.

Neat camper, Dave. It looks light and easy - like the ultimate waterproof tent. I noticed a wire. How do electrical things work?

Hi mumster,

You typically use a marina battery and converter (I have a combo unit) for 12V/120V for lights, ventillator and ceramic heater for those cold nights. We'll now be able to extend our camping trips until late October.

Wow, what a beauty, and the trailer's not bad either ;) Way to go Mr and Mrs Dave!

As I'm working on my second decade of lustrums, the cold hard ground is looking less and less appealing. Dave, pleave tell me the plans for that beauty can be purchased somewhere....and where that might be.
Thanks,
Rob

Kewl camster Dave. I assume it's got a wireless access point? I imagine a car in the pinkham parking lot with a cell phone, set for lan-wake type activity and a pringles can could provide some pretty up-to-date tuckerman updates. Maybe stream some live video.

Back to reality now: I could probably persuade the wife to camp somewhere in the white mountains instead of the usual haunts. (She usually likes a beach somewhere nearby.) But be for-warned, we are family of 4.

Hi RR,

We purchased our tear drop, but you can also buy just the plans from several places.

Ours was purchased from a place in Canton Ohio,
Tear Drop Trailer Express (http://teardroptrailersexpress.com/) .

I have more resources listed on our Camp ADK (http://campadk.com/camping_page.htm) site.

M@ :ducttape: Hey M@ :ducttape:

Good news for Mrs. :ducttape: The beach is just up the trail, at Hermit Lake. :D

BTW, I saw a photo of one of your children on your personal page - every bit as cute as skilas was! Good work.

Barnes Field campground is an officially designated group campground in the summer and is just up the DC road from Dolly Copp. Dolly Copp is fine with me...before Columbus Day? After? Columbus Day weekend? Could be cold up high, but it's often very nice down low. Fewer bugs after Labor Day.....

I think he just pasted it onto the photo - note that it's visible in only one shot....but it's a great logo - maybe he will make bumper stickers and car/trailer decals after the t-shirts . :D

Great camper Dave. Just MIGHT be the ideal solution to my Celebrity. Is there actually room to stretch out? I'm only 5'10" so probably. Seems to me that we are all going to NEED a summer get together 'cuz we all appear to be starting to have withdrawal symptoms. I'm in for whenever for it. Probably should be at least Fri-Sun as some will probably not be able to either make it up on Fri or stay until Sun. Barnes is going to be the best bet for a group, I'll bet. OK, 'nuff for now. Happy camping. Have fun, be safe. :skistooge:

Hey Al,

Yes our Snoozer is 7' 2" long inside so no problem for even a tall basketball player.

Our window of opportunity for a fall get together right now would be Sep 13th weekend, however Oct 4th weekend is looking better.

05-28-2003, 04:44 PM
So long as it is not Oct 25th, but by then we might be all at Tenney Mt  skiing, who would have thought? :snowflakes: in Oct? :D

We need to get together before 10e opens up so we can all plan our 10e trip! I'll even brew up a special batch of T4T brew for the occasion!

P.S. M@, what happened this weekend, couldn't get away from the fam? I had a frosty mug waiting for you, but never heard from you!!!

Next time you are in the area, feel free to drop in for a homebrew! And that goes out to all of you at T4T!!!

Early October works for us - it will be picturesque in New England, but early enough so skiable snow would not make us unavailable.

Hey Elwood , all this stuff about frosty mugs is making me thirsty.....shouldn't read these messages until I'm home from work..............

Anyone notice that skicdave is almost up to 500 posts? That deserves some type of award....but what???

How about a "stuck at work" graemlin while you are back in the graemlin mode?
