Hey... I've looked around and cannot locate a campground map of the Hermit Lake site. If anyone can provide a link or even draw a crude pencil map of what is where, etc. I'ld appreciate it.
I know where a couple of the lean-tos are but not the tent platforms, etc. in relation to the caretaker's/ranger cabins are and the trail.
Thanks in advance. You're the coolest! http://www.techsourceconsultants.com/coppermine/albums/userpics/10020/glasses.gif
Tent platforms are on the other side of the lake..
First Platforms then shelters.

Here ya go

You take a right hand turn just before the caretakers hut off of the TRT, before the septic chain link fence and tanks near the back, if you got there you have gone too far.
Head down and take your first obvious left up an embankment which will lead to one tent platform, if you go past you will find two more to your left and one other to the right, I believe there are four total.
This is from what I remember in the winter months, I remember camping under a few plat signs

Thanks. I know where the campground is but what I'm looking for is a 'campsite or campground' map... hastily drawn on a napkin using eyeliner in a small café. Verbal descriptions help but not enough.
I have a posse of peep that are interested in spending a couple days up there and we're trying to determine the best tent site/lean to. You know... far enough away from the authorities and/or site with best views, etc.
PS - doesn't have to be done in eyeliner... blood works too. :p
Tent sites are all west of HL and in tall trees, no views. There are a couple shelters NW and W of HL that have limited views, but they are away from other trails and generally secluded.
This is all about a shakey memory but here is what I have.

I can't tell if it's on RR's map or not, but I think there are some more lean-tos out beyond the latrine.
yup...I forgot the shelter trails on that side.
East from the CH:
Summer Rest Rooms
Winter Privvies (two structures, four doors)
Shelter #6 (if I remember correctly)
The MWVSP shack ("X" marks the spot)
Shelter # 7 (closest to the Cutler River and still close to the TRT)

Rob's map is pretty "On Point" excluding the shelters below the "Honey Pot"
Do you need a map to the water source too ? ;)

WOW! RR pulls through in a pinch! Thanks bro.... I owe you a frosty brew and I'll even rep ya for joggin the ol noggin for this data. :D OK OK, NtrentT gets a half rep for the misc details missed on the 1st go round. :p
The south eastern most shelters near the lake don't have views from the shelter - but are about 10 yards from a nice "Viewing Spot" on the South side of Hermit lake that provides a very nice view. It's as far away from the cabin as possible too.
