Is there skiable snow as off today...7-25....? I think the more appropriate question is 'how bad do you want it'. There comes a point where Don Henley is right, 'Not bad enough'. Sex and skiing are not that far apart. Having been rained out last Sunday, was gonna look at RG on the webcam. If the line for 75 or so feet was not truncated, maybe on Sunday, if only to have the personal latest east ski day. Otherwise, visit my son who is beating me over the head with a photo near Silverton in Summit of 2 cols divided by a spine and close to 2000 vert. We must have done something right: he's ditched his ski mountain passes and spent last year riding hike to snowboard backcountry. Then there's always the Saltpile in Portsmouth. See you out there.;)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVo79D_lppk Right's gone, there's a patch below center head, steep, and rocks everywhere. For myself, I don't think so. May the gods bless the guy in MadPat's clip for destroying his skis on a run that I would bet that more than one of us would like to have the ability to do. My guess is that some in this crew probably could. I'm certainly not one of them. Looking at the TR's for the season, there's a lot of crazy stuff that has been skiied. I relate where we go to non-bc people and they do the "you're insane" response. No, just crazy. I think the line between "crazy" and insane/stupid is based on ability, and the more you push the envelope and improve, the more that line changes. For myself, push the envelope. October cometh. See you out there.

rog yeah, big thanks for the steer to Pioneer in N.Hampton. I'll spend this week looking for used boards based on what the info was at Pioneer, if I don't find a used board, will bite the bullet and go with their recommendations. Will definitely do the wetsuit through them based on quality/price. I entered the shop at the same time as two yuppie families and Ryan(?) took the time to educate me on epoxy/fiberglass, thick/thin, shaped bottom. tail width, newbie crap, etc. when those folks were probably making an immediate impulse purchase. Very much impressed. Drove by Long Sands again today. Yeah, I'm hooked.
