How old were you the'first time ' you did :skierscared: Tuckerman's??
My son and I went up May 10 this year...he was 15 and I'm 52 :skierscared:
The hike was much more than we expected....but well worth it....and in Arnold's words...'we'll be Bach'

I was 30. My first downhill experience was at 24, and though I knew about Toni Matt before it wasn't until I really started to ski several years later when I began to understand His feat and have the drive to get to :tucks:

I was 22 year old. It was June 21st first day of summer. Drove all night, had a terrible back pack. Helped the ski patrol evac 2 patients. Big wake up call.

Spring 1981...at the ripe age of 21 (no fear and big on skiing NE). Haven't skied since May 1982 (at Tucks) as I skied NE, mostly for free, for 5 years in college (yes the 5 year plan) and then I moved back to NJ. Took up boarding with my 12 year old son this year and hoping to see Tucks April 2004.

May 17 of this year was my first time. I am now 26 years old. I have been skiing for 22 of those years (thank God my parents were ski junkies!) I have been hearing about Tucks ever since I moved out East, and up until this year I was a Sally about going!!!
First time for me was this year at age 45. I went with my son who is 15. What I wouldn't give to have made my first trip at age 15. I guess I have alot of catching up to do.

i made my first trip when i was 10 or 11, and was not that good of a skier but my uncle talked me into it and i made the seemingly endless :unhappyhiker: up to the :tucks: and pretty much :skierembarrassed: all the way to the :lunchrocks: where i recieved a 9.5 for the yard sale! i took one run, and stayed at the :lunchrocks: and watched seasoned pros take the same line :skierembarrassed: :D

I don't remember when but I do remember that my knees had more cartilage in them than they do now! Ahhhh, the joys of youth. Have fun, be safe. Al :skistooge:
