Austria glaciers... nice ! Portillo, Chile is south of the equator so they are coming into their winter ski season in the Andes mountains now which are the longest highest chain of mountains in the world. Go where the snow is !!!

Yes, I'm familiar with the Andes 'Summer' season and have yet to slide on their snows with planks underfoot (I have with hiking boots!). One of these years I'll be there. Nearly made it last summer in late Aug but the ride(flight) fell through. :rolleyes: I'm guessing you don't know what I do for a living. I'll leave it a mystery for now. :p You know when you'll get to Portillo if you go? I know their 'best conditions' window is very late Aug into early September just after the winds kick up(can't remember the name). Skilasnow who used to frequent this forum lived there for a while.
