I have been following this web site since it was in a beta mode many years ago since there has been so many of us that have visited these ski areas across the country I thought it might be interesting to see a 3d version with steepness degrees and grade %. In my travels across the country I do believe the owner of the site, Dale, has done a pretty accurate job. We should all push him to complete one of Mt. Washington and our favorite ravines. ;) Here is the link :

Cool stuff. I think I saw the one for alta posted on some big d!ck thread some one had going on over at TGR, but I've never seen the whole site meself. Makes you realize how prone to exaggeration of steepness we all really are.

I thank you. My boss, however, most certainly does not!

Yeah, when I found this site I fell in love with it- even more when I started matching the accuracy of Dales maps to the actual mountains. I usually have an inclinometer with me and it really does show you what the general population perceives as steep and how far off they really are in there degree estimates.

Glad you enjoy the site- Even though my boss is a skier he thinks I have rocks in my head for skiing in June... I told him sorry, yeah there from Mt Washington. :skierpetrified::

It'll go right under "Ski Naked" on my Jeep. Does this mean I owe you royalties?

For years my wife and I have called Okemo "Blue Mountain" This spring we skied the bumps over on Big Bang and my five year old daughter said "mama and papi doesn't this mountain have any steep trails and big bumps ?"

Hey Tua Guy, you're in charge- that would be pretty funny to see.... Royalties to the preservation of our cause !

cannon would be interesting, the cat would look pretty flat as it is pretty flat compared to alot of areas. "pitch" pine would be neat as well as mt abram with one of the steepest trails in maine if not all of new england with rocky's run. rocky's last two pitches usually slide naturally after some storms and it's definitely not a snowmaking trail. ya, i've seen debris piles at the bottom of rocky's a few times.

It would be nice to see Magic Mountain in there.

i wrote that guy to put hunter up and he never got back to me. It's much better when you through the advanced options on, because with these eastern resorts you have to rotate them just right to see how steep a trail like goat or rumble is.

a map of tux gully's would rule though.
