awe c'mon, i nominate jumpturn, not cuz he nominated me but, because he really got around the rock and hit many great days in a variety of places, conditions, weather and approaches. for me, it's just what i do and have done in quantity and quality, at least i try, for many years. with the flexible schedule and not tied down in the least, i could live and ski anywhere and have lived west of the mid-west on occasion but choose the east for the diversity, challenge of the conditions, 4 (ski) seasons, and just plain damn good hard and easy skiing. but, what i enjoy the most are the fellow east coast loyal skiers that just love to ski, steep, mellow, soft, hard, wet, dry, big mountain, small hill, don't matter, opinionated w/o the attitude, who can go west, south, north, abroad and tear it up east coast style and come back home even more stoked to be skiing at home. can't wait for mid-week, more turns to be had.

Funny, in all the years ive been on this board i never knew we had an award.....
I gave your mom an award.
M@
Anything for a night of food and drink!
Yeah, a couple of energizer types all right...but what about being enthusiastic enough to drive 6 hours each way, for a day trip.....or 4 hours each way for a w/e?
This calls for an on-mountain BBQ award cermony....or, at least a Rib Shack award cermony for the Upland contingent and a simultaneous Redbones award cermony for the Middle contingent with the Northern and Southern contingents assembled in some similar BBQ.
With all the tech gurus here, conference calling and web viddy feed shouldn't bee too much of a stretch....

Tua has stumped around to obscure sections of the rock pile...
often going in early and coming out late, showing great determination
to ski a new line (to him (and co-horts))in the face of the adversity that the rock pile is known for. ;)
Pure Determination!

I never understood why they call them "Pantsuits"? Dont suits normally entail pants? Why the emphasis on pants? Is it cause women should be in skirts at all times? I personally do not wnat to see hillary in a skirt.....

How about skorts? You got a problem with Hillary wearing a pair of skorts?
Hopefully in those, you wouldn't be able to see her

If there is an award, I second Samthaman. He's the only guy I saw photos of skiing the rockpile sans pants this year.

Whats with all these "superlative" threads?
I'll tell you one thing that certainly is not superlative, and that is pants. They are most certainly not composed of threads that are superlative at all. In fact, I find trousers most appalling.

I nominate The Lisa, for gomering down Hillman's, Right Gully (two or three times in slabby conditions), and the Lower Sluice, plus skiing the Sherburne by headlamp, during her first season skiing. That's either bravery or stupidity, I'm not sure which! And if it's stupidity, I'd have encouraged it. Either way, it's certainly enthusiasm.

When the international politics gets a little tough, we enter the War Room to press the little red buttons: "Snuke em!"
I love pants as much as I love sandwiches. I'll have the pastrami blend with Russian Dressing please.

IMO, if you aren't racing or bumping or freestyling, skiing is not a contest.

I was way beyond 2nd for your mom. Too bad were on the open board area - I had some other funny stuff to say about that.

i second this...
GOS, foot of fresh windslab, no problem - stomp down a booter, then lap it. go home, wake up, drive back up to tux, skin back into GOS, foot of fresh windslab, no problem - stomp down a booter, then lap it.
then repeat 2-3 times per week until june - hmm, is today tuesday? surf, ski, or bike day (or all 3)???
how he still has a girlfriend is beyond me, she must be pretty damn cool...although once my wife figures out i don't go up to tux to die, she'll be more cool with it...

:skierembarrassed:Well, gee if I knew there was an award up for grabs I would not have worn pants while doing all that either.

today is, too hot do nuthin day after doing my part to save the worlds natural resources by riding my mountain bike the 140 miles to work and home all week in the african heat so that i don't feel so bad to drive the 190 miles round trip to ski all day tomorrow. in fact it is my goal to ride the 28 miles r/t to work till next winter unless it's pouring or if the waves are good. les and i are chillin in the valley deciding where to eat and drink tonight. one things fer sure, i'll be well rested for tomorrow with a static day today, a rarity in my world but, so is sleep.
it's beyond me that les is still hangin around. guess she has nuthin better lined up, lol.
