i have a few questions for whoever wantsto answer them.
how long did skiing go to in 1997?
what is the snow arch and how does it stay all year sometimes when the rest is melted?
where can you find the snow arch?
will there be one this year do you think?
does it always last all summer?
is it dangerous to ski?
how long did the 2 guys streak of skiing tucks last?

Dear Mike,

Ok, so its been almost 4 1/2 years since you posted you questions. Its time SOMEONE answered!

In 1997 there were still people skiing the ravine mid July.

The snow arch is some of the last snow and ice to leave the ravine, usually sometime in July, or even August. It is formed by the melt water from the waterfall over the lip of the headwall, as it cuts through the snow.

The snow arc is partway up the headwall just above lunch rocks and below the lip. You can see it here...

Yes there will be one this year.... I mean there was one in 1997 yes... it has since melted though :confused:

It doesn't always last all summer.

It is dangerous to ski. Highly recommend you stay clear!

Not sure how long the guys streak of skiing tucks lasted, but there was some steaking.... :nakedguy: ... but only for a few minutes :cooldog:

Then one day you drink a couple of beers and end up sand skiing. Then you come back to the slopes a couple months later when there's snow, and what's that on your jacket? SAND!

Snow gods? I thought there was only one? Do you have other "FALSE GODS?" That is probably a lot more blasphamos than sand skiing.

I think the sand god is the same one responsible for geotechnique activity, thus giving us the MOUNTAINTS, without which the snow would be useless for skiing.
